Principal
About The Role
Principals orchestrate our entire ecosystem, working at the intersection that brings our high-potential engineers together with the diverse set of opportunities we represent. You’ll work on both sides of the business, forming and managing relationships with the most Capitaled engineers from top universities, while helping your own batch of high-growth companies manage their growth. Principals develop a skill for identifying Capital while learning more about the different challenges companies face at various stages of growth, from pre-seed to exit. With a significant portion of our clients often being stealth companies, you’ll also gain insights and exposure into some of the most promising technologies before they start driving global innovation.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with our members to determine what opportunities within our ecosystem are best for them. You will be working with 60 - 80 engineers at any given point (~200 over the year).
- Fully manage your own batch of 5-6 client companies, helping them build out their teams throughout their growth. Our clients are primarily early-stage technology companies in various industries, backed by leading VCs.
- We thrive off launching new and synergistic initiatives within our ecosystem. As a Principal, you’ll be in a unique position to work closely with all components of our ecosystem to identify promising opportunities and internal ventures.
- Connect entrepreneurial members with opportunities for investment.
- You will be the connection between our members and our clients, acting as both a guide for our members and the director of Capital within our ecosystem.

- Attention To Detail: You are helping shape both engineers’ and companies’ trajectories. While we understand that making mistakes is necessary in any learning process, it’s important to take all possible measures to ensure details aren’t overlooked; the smallest mistakes can have large-scale impacts.
Experience
Being in such a dynamic environment, working with companies that are pushing the envelope in new ways, we have found that values, abilities, and approach are more important than raw experience for this role. With that said, we have seen people with certain backgrounds come in more prepared for the responsibilities of this role. Individuals with experience in Capital-focused roles at companies experiencing growth at various stages come in with an immediate value add to our members and clients. Being a software engineer is not a requirement, however, with the majority of our opportunities revolving around technological innovation, you should have experience and an interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The only requirements we have are:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S accredited university.
- Available to start in July 2018.

Our compensation packages are highly competitive, which include a high base salary & significant bonus based on team performance.
Operations Associate
About The Role
We are looking for outstanding Operations Associates who want to gain experience managing and optimizing systematic processes that engage thousands of high-potential engineers and our ecosystem of diverse, high-impact opportunities. You will work directly with the Project Lead to strategically plan and execute on vital operations while efficiently managing relevant pipelines.
As an Associate, you’ll get an insider look at the workings of a high-growth startup, and a chance to understand the opportunities and challenges of working in such dynamic environments.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Capital Operations Manager to plan and execute operational tasks for a project that aligns with your skills and interests.
- Serve as the lead of content development and oversee the team that develops the resources needed to introduce our Members to our Clients.
- Prioritize and manage timelines by delegating tasks and overseeing production.
- Oversee the quality check process.
- Draft communication as needed.
- Propose and implement systematic change.
- Serve as the lead of content development and oversee the team that develops the resources needed to introduce our Members to our Clients.
- Be a part of a team that provides the operational perspective needed to build out out automatic/manual system of communication.
- Curate a positive Member experience and build out the operational support and systems needed to support a Member’s journey through the Human ecosystem.

- Executing with an Attention to Detail: Reliability, along with a desire to go the extra mile, are vital.

Member Community Manager
About The Role
Every year we develop relationships with thousands of new engineers who are both highly skilled and impact-oriented. One of the largest and most exciting initiatives within Human.Capital exists in building out the processes and infrastructure to strategically engage with this large community. We’re looking for the point person to help lead this initiative.
As the Member Community Manager, you and your internal team will be leading the execution of all engagement efforts across a network of thousands of high-potential, impact-oriented engineers. In this role, you’ll need to implement strategies that revolve around a diverse and dynamic set of teams, strategies, and processes. This will include creating project schedules, identifying risks, and monitoring micro and macro levels of progress. Your program will demand different strategies and processes for different niches in the community, and it’s your job to keep the entire ecosystem coordinated in line with relevant goals. In this role, you will take the lead on orchestrating the system that serves our foundation: our members.
The scale of our member community will look like the following:
2018 - 1,500 members
2019 - 4,000 members
2020 - 10,000 members
2023 - 25,000 members
As the Member Community Manager, you’ll play a direct role in systematically influencing the potential life trajectory of the thousands that we have relationships with. We’re building a future where engineers can change the world on their own terms by working directly on some of society’s most pressing challenges, and are looking for the Member Community Manager to build out and lead a key part of this movement.
Responsibilities
The core responsibility revolves around the strategic and systematic engagement of the thousands that make up our member community. To accomplish this, you and your team are responsible for:
- Distributive Management: Building out and establishing efforts across the various hubs our members are geo-located in, monitoring and maintaining progress, and coordinating with relevant team members to ensure we reach our goals.
- Process Optimization: Building out and managing in-house operations while identifying and executing on improvement opportunities.
- Strategy Development: Developing new and innovative approaches to best engage the community.
- Team Building & Management: Growing and managing your own operations team
Abilities & Skills
- People Management: When building relationships with this many people spread across varying geographic hubs, as well as your own internal team, you will need to know how to effectively and empathetically engage systems of people.
- Wearing Many Hats: There will be many moving part. You need to be comfortable effectively and regularly switching contexts while maintaining focus on set goals.
- Excellent Communication Skills: You will be interfacing with many personality types and teams, both verbally and through writing.
- Creativity: Implementing strategies to engage with this growing community hasn’t been done before. You’ll need to be creative in all aspects of your strategy and approach, whether it be learning from mistakes or applying new frameworks.
- Attention to Detail: You will be designing a complex community with a lot of moving parts. This requires a rather obsessive attention to detail in ensuring that the processes you build out are running smoothly.
- Execution: We’re looking for people who get things done while maintaining high-level thinking and needing minimal oversight.
Experience
Being in such a dynamic, and often demanding environment where you will be playing a key role in Human.Capital’s success and growth, we have found that values, abilities, and approach are more important than raw experience. That being said, the ideal candidate for this position has experience engaging large communities that required people and process management, as well as dynamic strategy development and execution. With the majority of our ecosystem revolving around technological innovation, you should also have experience and an interest in technology and entrepreneurship.
The minimum qualifications are:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited university.
- Experience working with operations, community engagement, consulting, analytics, or equivalent practical experience.
